Gaia, the Earth Mother, talks to the vines.
My Urban Goddesses project sprang from the back of my mind in September of 2015, like Athena being born from the mind of Zeus! It was really that simple. I had a list of women I wanted to photograph, and my brain whispered to me that I should make them Goddesses.
If Goddesses from mythologies all around the world were incarnated as modern women, what would they be like? What would they care about? How would they be different, and how would they be the same? Those are questions I explore as I photograph the Urban Goddesses.
Some of my Goddesses are models by trade and aspiration, but most are regular women. As they embody a goddess, they get to transform themselves and still express some aspect of their own personality. And we have a lot of fun doing it.
