#guitarmonday rolls in a little late.
So, if you've wondered why I named my blog The Light Pours Out of Me, this is why.
And Ministry's cover is pretty great, too - just a little thumpier.
My medium is photography, but the camera is a tool I use as an artist. That tool takes in light and transforms it. I use the tool in different ways to use light in different ways. In a technical sense, I am always manipulating the light, choosing it.
But in a very real way, the light pours out of me first.
Without me and the way I sense and see light, there is no photograph. Without my brain and heart, the camera doesn't know what to look at, what to focus on. Without my illumination, there is no photograph. It sounds trite to say it, but I shoot from the heart, not just from the box or the hip. This is what makes my photography punk rock. I (and my photographs) ask, "What can I do with what I have?"
